The TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) is an exam Tata Consultancy Services uses to screen candidates for entry-level roles. We put together this TCS NQT 2027 preparation sheet to help you practise for the exam and get ready for the technical interview. Start with the 150 coding questions below, then use the lessons, practice sets and topic mock tests to work on quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability. Further down, you’ll find the section-wise syllabus, exam pattern and technical interview resources. The guide also shows you where to check eligibility and exam dates for your batch, and how to apply.

150 Coding Questions for TCS NQT

Coding is one of the most important parts of the TCS NQT exam for IT roles. We handpicked the 150 coding problems below based on the TCS NQT exam pattern and the types of questions asked in previous exams. Start with basic programming questions and work your way up to more challenging problems on data structures and algorithms (DSA).

TCS NQT Aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal Practice

Along with coding, the TCS NQT exam tests your quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability in the Foundation section. We’ve put together lessons, practice questions and mock tests for 47 topics to help you prepare for all three areas. Start with a lesson to learn the basics, then solve the practice questions and take a mock test on the same topic to check your progress.

Quantitative Aptitude Questions and Practice Sets

Practise calculating percentage changes, comparing quantities using ratios and working out how long a job takes. The 25 quantitative aptitude topics cover these skills alongside algebra, geometry and probability.

TCS NQT 2027 Exam Dates, Eligibility and Registration

TCS hiring drives and paid TCS iON scorecard tests run on separate schedules.

TCS All India NQT Hiring for the 2027 Batch

TCS NQT 2027 Exam Date and Registration Status

As of 6 November 2026, TCS had not announced the exam date or registration window for the 2027 All India NQT engineering hiring drive. The most recent All India NQT hiring notice covers the 2024, 2025 and 2026 graduating batches.

Check TCS Entry Level Careers for the notice for your batch. The TCS BPS Hiring 2027 notice is for a separate Business Process Services drive.

Eligibility Checklist for TCS NQT 2027

Here’s what TCS checked in the previous drive. Use the checklist to prepare your documents, then confirm the requirements in the notice for your batch.

Requirement

Requirements in the 2026 hiring notice

Degree

Full-time BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, MSc or MS from an institution recognised by AICTE or UGC. Any specialisation was eligible.

Academic marks

At least 60% or equivalent CGPA at each applicable stage, including Class 10, Class 12, diploma, graduation and postgraduation. Include all subjects in the calculation.

Backlogs and course duration

Clear pending backlogs before appearing for selection and complete the course within its scheduled duration.

Academic gaps

Declare gaps through your highest qualification. The total gap could be at most 24 months.

Age and experience

18–28 years of age, with up to two years of work experience.

The 2026 notice accepted Class 10 or 12 from NIOS if the applicable university courses were full-time. For engineering degrees, the degree or provisional certificate had to show first-class completion within the scheduled course duration.

How to Apply for TCS NQT on NextStep

Once your batch’s drive opens, follow the application steps in its hiring notice. Here’s how the previous drive worked.

  1. When an eligible drive opens, create an IT profile on TCS NextStep or sign in with your existing reference number.

  2. Select Apply For Drive. Choose your evaluation skill, preferred test centre and preferred job cities as prompted.

  3. Check Track Your Application for Applied for Drive. Watch your registered email for test instructions and, if shortlisted, the next steps.

Documents to Keep Ready for TCS Hiring

Keep your academic marksheets and degree certificates handy for document checks. If you’ve worked before, keep letters from your previous employers showing when you joined and left. In the previous drive, TCS used the skill you selected during registration for interview evaluation.

Paid TCS iON NQT - Where to Check TCS iON NQT Dates and Fees

TCS iON runs paid assessments in separate test cycles. Open the page for the test you plan to take to check its exam date, application deadline and fee.

TCS NQT 2027 FAQs

1- When Will TCS NQT 2027 Registration Start?

As of 6 November 2026, TCS had not posted a registration window for the 2027 engineering hiring drive. Check TCS Entry Level Careers for the next notice and the batches it covers.

2- What should I practise besides coding for TCS NQT?

Practise numerical ability, verbal ability and reasoning for Foundation. For the hiring test, also set aside time for the combined quantitative and reasoning section in Advanced.

3- Which topics should I study first for TCS NQT?

Start with percentages, ratios and averages for aptitude, series and seating arrangements for reasoning, and grammar and reading comprehension for verbal ability. If your test includes coding, begin with number logic, arrays and strings.

4- What are the TCS NQT coding questions in this sheet based on?

We chose practice problems that reflect the exam pattern and the types of questions asked in previous exams. The sheet covers both basic programming and more advanced problems such as binary search and dynamic programming.

5- Do coding questions repeat in TCS NQT?

The exact questions can vary. Learn to recognise the technique behind each problem. For example, frequency counting can help you solve different questions about repeated values or characters.

6- How many coding questions are in TCS NQT?

Check your drive instructions for the number of coding questions. The previous hiring notice allowed 90 minutes for Advanced Coding. The 16 questions listed for the paid IT assessment cover the whole Advanced section, including quantitative and reasoning ability.

7- Which programming languages are allowed in TCS NQT?

Check the supported languages in your test instructions. Practise in a language you can write and debug confidently, including reading input and printing output in the required format.

8- Is there negative marking in TCS NQT?

TCS iON states that its paid NQT assessments have no negative marking. For a TCS hiring drive, follow the marking rules in that drive’s test instructions.

9- Do I need to buy a TCS iON NQT test to apply for a job at TCS?

You can apply directly through TCS NextStep when the hiring drive is open. TCS says it does not ask candidates for payment during recruitment. The paid TCS iON assessments provide a scorecard for separate job applications.

10- Can I apply for TCS NQT with a backlog?

The 2026 All India NQT Hiring notice required candidates to clear pending backlogs before appearing for selection. Check the backlog rule in the notice for your batch.

11- Can final-year students take TCS NQT?
