What You Will Revise

Follow a Request Through the Network

Use an end-to-end flow to connect the layers. When a browser opens a website, consider name resolution, addressing, connection setup, security, and the request itself. Then ask how the flow changes if DNS fails, a connection is slow, or a CDN serves the resource.

Practise Clear Technical Explanations

  • Draw a packet or request flow and explain the role of each component.
  • Work through subnetting examples and state the assumptions behind your answer.
  • Compare TCP and UDP, switching and routing, and L4 and L7 load balancing.
  • Connect latency, throughput, congestion, and caching to application behaviour.
  • Revisit the situation-based topics and explain each scenario without your notes.
