I Didn’t Have a Perfect Plan, I Just Stayed Consistent

Hi everyone, I'm Boyina Akhil, a final year B.Tech Computer Science student with a strong interest in Data Structures & Algorithms, problem solving, and full stack development, which made my way to Amazon today.

Finding the Right Direction

Throughout my placement preparation, takeUforward played a major role in giving my preparation the structure it needed. The DSA roadmap, clear explanations, and interview focused problem lists helped me build a strong foundation and cover important topics systematically instead of solving random questions.

The interview experiences shared by other students also gave me valuable insights into what companies expect and helped me prepare with more confidence.

Building a Consistent Routine

My preparation strategy was simple: stay consistent and keep improving. I solved DSA problems every day, revised important concepts regularly, analysed my mistakes after contests, and practised mock interviews.

Alongside DSA, I strengthened my knowledge of Operating Systems, DBMS, Computer Networks, OOP, and SQL, while also working on full stack projects to gain practical development experience.

Learning From Every Interview

My placement journey had its share of challenging moments, but I focused on learning from every experience. Rejections taught me where I needed to improve, while regular practice helped me gradually become more confident and better prepared.

Following a structured roadmap and staying disciplined made it easier to keep moving forward.

What I Would Tell Juniors

Start early and stay consistent. Don't chase the number of problems solved, focus on understanding patterns and concepts.

Revise regularly, participate in contests, build meaningful projects, and prepare your core CS subjects alongside DSA. Most importantly, don't let rejections discourage you. Every interview is an opportunity to learn something valuable.

A Note of Gratitude

My journey has been about continuous learning, practice, and perseverance. I'm grateful to takeUforward for providing high quality free resources that gave my preparation direction and helped boost my confidence throughout the placement journey.
