I Almost Graduated Without an Offer. Then Oracle Happened.

Hi, I’m Tarun Krishna, a graduate of KL University and currently working as an Associate Consultant at Oracle.

When Placements Felt Uncertain

December 2023 was one of the toughest phases of my college journey. While many of my classmates had already secured jobs, I still had no offer in hand.

With campus placements nearing their end, it was difficult not to feel anxious and disappointed. But instead of giving up, I decided to keep improving and trust the process.

Going Back to the Fundamentals

I focused heavily on DSA and followed Striver’s A2Z DSA Sheet to build my problem solving skills in a structured way.

I kept practising, participating in contests, and working on my fundamentals even when the results weren't immediate.

When Things Finally Started Moving

January 2024 changed everything.

Within just ten days, I received multiple interview opportunities and eventually secured two offers. I joined AppSwirl Technologies, but I knew I wasn't done yet. My goal was still to work at a leading product based company.

So even after joining, I continued preparing, working on projects, practising DSA, and learning system design.

The Oracle Opportunity

Then I was shortlisted for Oracle's campus recruitment process.

The interviews covered DSA, SQL, projects, technical concepts, problem solving, and HR discussions. After successfully clearing the rounds, I received the news I had been waiting for:

I was selected by Oracle.

The Moment It All Paid Off

Getting Oracle meant more than just receiving another offer. It felt like proof that all those months of preparation, rejection, and self doubt had been worth it.

Every problem I solved and every setback I faced had brought me one step closer.

What This Journey Taught Me

My biggest takeaway is simple: success doesn't always come quickly, but that doesn't mean your efforts aren't working.

Keep learning, keep improving, and most importantly, don't give up when the results take time.

Oracle wasn't just another job for me. It was a goal I kept working towards even when things weren't going my way, and achieving it remains one of the biggest milestones of my journey.
