From Service Based Beginnings to Walmart Global Tech

Hi, I’m Sukanyaa Rashmi, a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart Global Tech. Over the years, I’ve worked at DXC Technology, Visa, Target, and now Walmart. My journey from a service based company to leading product companies has been shaped by consistent learning and disciplined problem solving.

The Resource That Stayed With Me

takeUforward played a significant role throughout my preparation journey.

  • Started with Striver’s YouTube videos to build conceptual clarity

  • Practised extensively using the TUF Sheets

  • Followed a structured roadmap instead of randomly solving problems

  • Focused on understanding DSA patterns and problem solving techniques

This foundation proved invaluable during coding interviews and continued to help me through multiple career transitions.

My Preparation Strategy

For me, it was always consistency over intensity.

  • Learned concepts through Striver’s explanations

  • Solved corresponding TUF problems

  • Revised previously solved questions regularly

  • Gradually added LLD, HLD, Java, and core CS subjects

  • Used mock interviews to strengthen my preparation

The goal was never to finish as many problems as possible. It was to understand the patterns well enough to solve unfamiliar problems.

From DXC to Walmart

I started my career at DXC Technology, where I built my software engineering fundamentals.

With dedicated preparation and continuous learning, I transitioned to Visa, then Target, and eventually Walmart Global Tech, where I currently work as a Senior Software Engineer.

Every switch brought new challenges, but the strong foundation I built in DSA and problem solving gave me the confidence to take on each opportunity.

Pick One Path and Go All In

Consistency over intensity. Every time.

  • Pick one structured roadmap

  • Focus on understanding, not memorisation

  • Practise and revise regularly

  • Don't get overwhelmed by too many resources

  • Treat rejections as part of the process

  • Give your preparation enough time to compound

You don't need to prepare perfectly every day. Consistent effort over several months will always beat short bursts of preparation.

Grateful for the Journey

I’m grateful to Striver and the entire takeUforward team for creating resources that have helped countless engineers, including me.

What started as DSA preparation became a foundation that supported me through multiple career transitions, from DXC to Visa, Target, and ultimately Walmart Global Tech.
