From 10 Straight Rejections to Amazon

Hi, I’m Anubhav. My placement journey was far from smooth, I got rejected by 10 companies back to back and came very close to being unplaced.

When I Almost Settled

Eventually, I secured an on campus offer. I was happy, but not completely satisfied because the role wasn't fully technical. I felt that after putting in so much effort, I could aim for something better.

So even after joining, I continued preparing.

There were more rejections, some companies ghosted me, and slowly, I started losing motivation. Eventually, I began accepting that maybe my current offer was good enough and reduced the time I spent preparing.

Then Amazon Happened

Out of nowhere, I received an Amazon OA link. I gave the OA and solved both questions. A week later, I got the interview schedule.

And that's where all the preparation started paying off.

The Interviews

Round 1: Both questions were variations of well known DP and Graph patterns, patterns I had practised directly from the A2Z Sheet. I cleared the round.

Round 2: A medium level Greedy + Arrays problem that I hadn't seen before. I worked through the approach, and the interviewer seemed satisfied. Cleared!

Round 3: Binary Search + LRU Cache. I had practised both before, so this round felt much more comfortable.

Out of the six interview questions, four were directly based on patterns from the A2Z Sheet, with some variations and tweaks.

At one point, I genuinely wondered: Are the interviewers referring to the A2Z Sheet too? 😄

Why TUF+ Worked for Me

I’m also a TUF+ member, and it helped me a lot during preparation.

One of the biggest advantages for me was having everything in one place. I didn't have to keep switching between multiple websites to find problems, solutions, or explanations.

One platform for every problem and solution.

That's exactly what made me take the subscription in the first place.

What This Journey Taught Me

Sometimes, you can be just one opportunity away from everything changing.

Even after 10 rejections, even when I was ready to settle, I kept a little bit of preparation going—and when Amazon came unexpectedly, I was ready.

Keep preparing. Keep improving. You never know which opportunity might be the one that changes everything.

A Special Thank You

“A huge thank you to Striver for dropping this banger! The A2Z Sheet and TUF+ played a massive role in my preparation and gave me the confidence to face interviews when the opportunity finally came.”
